Bellis was first established in 1952 in Unley, South Australia and has since grown to become a well-known and respected food manufacturer.

The company has adapted to the changing business environment of the 21st century by continuing to improve processes and by expanding our own unique core products in an efficient and sustainable manner.

1952

 Bellis established at Unley

1960

Market Share increases with Products including School Fruit Bars; Glazed products & Gift Packs.

1969

Bellis moves to Norwood under the name of Bellis Exclusive Products.

1970's

School Fruit Bars well established. Exports increase.

1972

Bellis moves manufacturing operations to Graves St, Newton in Adelaide's Eastern Suburbs.

1980

Bellis sold to Allens Sweets and renamed Bellis Fruit Bars. A new range of products established including enrobed products.

1983

Bellis Apple & Spice

1987

Allens Sweets sell Bellis to four independent shareholders.

1988

Bellis Assorted Fruit Slices.

1990's

Bellis products feature in all major supermarkets in Australia. Exports account for 10% of sales.

Bellis internal restructure with ownership transferred to two directors.

1996

Bellis moves production to current facility in the Playford Council area at 171 Philip Highway, Elizabeth South. The premises were opened by, then Governor of South Australia, Sir Eric Neal AC CVO.

1999

Bellis Baskets & Gourmet store open in Renmark.

2000's

Bellis increase research and development activities and start sub-contracting to customers manufacturing proprietary and 'Home Brands’ on behalf of major retailers.

2001

Bellis Bellistix

2010's

Bellis research & development and sub-contracting well established. Exports increase to China and UK. Well diversified range of products, including fruit based confectionery bars, fruit & oat bars, apricot slice & delight and nutritional protein bars.
